Azabudai Hills Summer Festival: Stalls, Ice & Bon Odori

In August 2025, right in the heart of Tokyo's midsummer, the Azabudai Hills Summer Festival (Noryo Matsuri) is held. Lush greenery and dazzling performances, food stalls where you can taste cuisines from around the world, and summer-only shaved ice at a 34th-floor observation cafe. - Getting there: directly connected underground to Exit 5 of Kamiyacho Station (Hibiya Line)

Opening Ceremony
On the festival’s first day, the summer night opens with a powerful drum performance by students of the British School in Tokyo.

Food Stalls: 12 Global Restaurants
During the festival, 12 of Azabudai Hills’ restaurants and dessert shops gather in one place at the Azabudai Hills Arena. From Indian food, a vegan cafe, and Japanese home cooking to Peruvian, Spanish, and Italian dishes, it’s a chance to taste world cuisine all at once.

Traditional Festival Games
There are also traditional summer-festival games that are fun to enjoy with kids. Water-gun shooting, flower fishing, super-ball scooping, and more, perfect for making memories.

Summer Shaved Ice at the 34F Sky Room Cafe
At the “Hills House Sky Room Cafe & Bar” on the 34th floor of the Azabudai Hills JP Tower, a special shaved ice available only during the summer festival is on offer. Enjoying cool shaved ice while taking in Tokyo Tower, the sunset, and the Tokyo night view all at once is a highlight of this festival.

Bon Odori at Nishikubo Hachiman Shrine
At Nishikubo Hachiman Shrine, next to Azabudai Hills, a traditional Japanese Bon Odori festival is held. Dancing to drums and music to honor ancestors, it’s a signature summer event where you can really feel the local atmosphere.

- Time: 18:00 - 20:30 (planned)
- Location: Nishikubo Hachiman Shrine
※ There are also food stalls near Nishikubo Hachiman Shrine, but these are not affiliated with the Azabudai Hills restaurants, so take note.
Ghibli Photo Zones
In summer 2025, the streets of Azabudai Hills take on a Ghibli mood. As a collaboration commemorating the “Isao Takahata Exhibition” (June 27 - Sept 15, 2025), photo zones with popular characters such as “Pom Poko,” “Panda! Go, Panda!,” and “Heidi, Girl of the Alps” are set up throughout.
