Azabujuban Noryo Festival & Roppongi Bon Odori 2026

On 22 and 23 August 2026 the Azabujuban Noryo Festival and the Roppongi Hills Bon Odori run on the same days. The noryo festival is 15:00 to 21:00 and the bon odori 17:00 to 20:00, and there is no bon odori on Friday the 21st.
Azabujuban and Roppongi Hills: the schedules side by side
In 2026 the two festivals fall on the same two days, 22 and 23 August. Friday the 21st has only the Roppongi Hills eve festival, with no bon odori.

Azabujuban Noryo Festival 2026
The 60th Azabujuban Noryo Festival runs on 22 and 23 August from 15:00 to 21:00. Noryo (納涼) means enjoying yourself while cooling off from the summer heat.
The Azabujuban shopping street area is split into seven zones, A to G, with food from the shopping street, stalls selling regional specialities from around Japan, performances and children's programmes.

🍜 Regional food from across Japan: Oraga Kuni Jiman (おらがくに自慢)
These are stalls run by local governments and related organisations from regions across Japan.
Oysters and Akkeshi whisky highballs from Akkeshi in Hokkaido, fried shark from Kesennuma in Miyagi, Yonezawa beef skewers from Yonezawa in Yamagata, Hiruzen yakisoba from Maniwa in Okayama: regional food from around the country, all in Azabujuban.

🎪 For children: Azabu Juhachiban (麻布十八番) 2026
From this year a new children's event runs at Ichinohashi Park. There is content tied to Pan Dorobou (パンどろぼう), Spider-Man and the Minions, plus an FC Tokyo shot speed challenge on the 22nd and a lacrosse session on the 23rd.
There are also play stalls for children: senbonbiki, gachapon, a dice game, can stacking and scooping up glowing toys. Entry may be restricted when it gets crowded, for safety.
Roppongi Hills Bon Odori 2026
The Roppongi Hills Bon Odori is a summer festival anyone can join in, dancing around a yagura tower set up in the middle of the Arena.
In 2026 it runs on 22 and 23 August from 17:00 to 20:00, and anyone can join in to Tokyo's best-known bon odori music and to Roppongi Hills' own song, Roppongin Ondo (六本人音頭). The bon odori and taking part are both free.

The eve festival on the 21st has Gakugeki Roppongi Raku, the Roppongi Hills signature performance: residents, people who work in the complex and students from nearby schools rehearse for about a month and a half before taking the stage.
On the 22nd it is Futako-ryu Tokyo Onikenbai from Kitakami in Iwate, and on the 23rd Unosumai Toramai from Kamaishi in Iwate, each performing at 16:30 and 18:30.
🍜 Roppongi Hills stalls and food market
Eleven shops set up ennichi stalls in the Roppongi Hills Arena. Negishio gyutan don, Japanese black beef rib skewers, xiaolongbao: festival menus from restaurants inside the complex.
On Keyakizaka-dori there is a food market with six shops taking part. Hours differ by day: 15:30 to 20:30 on the 22nd, 17:00 to 20:30 on the 23rd.
🎪 If you have children with you
Keyakizaka-dori has a water play land on the 22nd and 23rd from 16:00 to 19:30. At 15:00 on the 23rd there is also a Doraemon birthday parade lasting about 30 minutes.
Traffic restrictions and how to move between the two
⛔ Azabujuban Station exits are restricted
On festival days some Azabujuban Station exits change direction.
Oedo Line exits South 1 and South 2-3 are exit only, and exit 7 is entrance only from 15:00 to 22:00. Namboku Line exit 4 is exit only from 14:00 to 20:00.
The exit you normally use may not let you in, so check the signs on the day.
The Azabujuban festival streets are keep left. In the crowded stretches, stick to the direction of travel.
⛔ Keyakizaka closes to traffic from 14:00
On the 22nd and 23rd, part of Keyakizaka-dori between Roppongi Hills and Azabujuban closes to vehicles.
Azabujuban is 14:00 to 21:00 and Roppongi Hills 14:00 to 21:30. Follow the signs on site for closures and routing. During the events the crowds mean journeys take longer than usual.
🚶 A route for both festivals
If you are doing both in one day, Azabujuban then Roppongi Hills is the natural order.
Start at Azabujuban Station, walk the shopping street from zone A to B to C, then follow Keyakizaka up to Roppongi Hills.
Look around the Azabujuban Noryo Festival from around 15:00, then move to the Roppongi Hills Arena before 17:00 and you will be there for the bon odori start.
The bon odori finishes at 20:00 and the Azabujuban Noryo Festival runs until 21:00, so you can head back to Azabujuban afterwards.
Tokyo in August shows a different face once the sun goes down.
The lights of the stalls and the sound of people laughing run down the Azabujuban side streets, and up the hill at Roppongi Hills the bon odori music carries out from around the yagura.
With both festivals falling on the same days, 22 and 23 August, rather than rushing through one of them, take your time at the Azabujuban summer festival and then walk up to Roppongi Hills.
