Katsushika Fireworks: Getting There & Traffic Regulations
The venue, Shibamata baseball ground, is on the Edogawa riverside in Katsushika-ku in eastern Tokyo. It’s about 30-50 minutes by train from central Tokyo, using the Keisei Line, JR Line, or Hokuso Line.

✅ Traffic Regulations
On the day of the 2026 Katsushika Fireworks, riverside viewing on the Matsudo City (Chiba Prefecture) side is prohibited for safety. Stopping to watch on the cycling road atop the embankment or on the bridges is also prohibited.
You’ll need to watch from the Katsushika-side paid reserved seats or free seating.

⚠️ Before you buy
After purchase, cancellations, changes, or refunds for customer reasons are not possible. A refund applies only if the organizer stops the event before the fireworks launch begins. If it’s stopped after the launch begins, or only the drone show is canceled, no refund is given.
You can’t choose your exact seat position, and even within the same area, some views may be partly blocked by trees and the like depending on position. In that case, no seat change or refund is given.
Paid seats open for entry from 16:00. The entry routes can get very crowded right before the launch, so allow plenty of time.

Free-seating areas are set up on both sides of the Katsushika-side paid seats, and you can use them without a reservation. Since free seating is first-come, first-served, arriving late can make it hard to watch from the spot you want.

Q1. Is free viewing possible?
Yes. But in 2026 you’ll need to use the Katsushika-side free seating rather than the Matsudo-side riverside. The Edogawa Line Golf Matsudo course and the cycling road atop the embankment are off-limits all day on the event day, and stopping to watch on the roads or bridges is also prohibited.
Q2. Which is the nearest station?
The nearest is Keisei Line Shibamata Station, about a 10-minute walk to the venue. From JR Kanamachi Station it’s about 20 minutes, and from Hokuso Line Shin-Shibamata Station about 15 minutes. The official guidance notes that Shin-Shibamata Station is relatively uncrowded.
Q3. Is it canceled if it rains?
It’s canceled in bad weather and is not postponed. It may go ahead in light rain, but it will be stopped if a typhoon or the like makes a safe event impossible. Even if only the drone show is canceled, paid seats are not refunded.
Q4. What should I bring?
Late-July Tokyo is hot and humid, so it’s good to bring water, a towel, a handheld fan, and salty snacks to replenish electrolytes. Convenience stores and restrooms around the venue can be crowded, so prepare drinks and snacks in advance and use the restroom at your station or before you reach the venue.
