Marunouchi Street Park Christmas Illumination — Recommended Route
As you can see on the map, the Marunouchi Street Park Illumination covers a wide area, so it's best to plan a route before walking around.
If you start at Tokyo Station's Marunouchi Plaza around 4 PM and follow the order below, you can enjoy the sunset, the night view, and the illumination all in one go.
[Recommended Route]
1. Tokyo Station Marunouchi Plaza → 2. Marunouchi Building (sunset) → 3. Kokyo-dori Ice Rink → 4. Shin-Marunouchi Building (Tokyo Station night view) → 5. Marunouchi Naka-dori (north) → 6. Wadakura Fountain Park Starbucks → 7. Marunouchi Naka-dori (south) → 8. Tokyo Midtown Hibiya

1. Tokyo Station Marunouchi Plaza
When you exit Tokyo Station's Central Exit, you arrive at the Marunouchi Plaza. The long road stretching toward Edo Castle is Kokyo-dori. It's bustling with everyone from tourists to couples taking wedding photos.

2. Marunouchi Building 35F Free Observatory
This is a free observatory where you can watch the sunset over Edo Castle. I recommend going at sunset time. You can also see Mount Fuji in the distance.

3. Kokyo-dori Ice Rink
The Kokyo-dori Ice Rink is made of plastic instead of real ice, so you can skate without getting wet. It's adorable to watch kids skating with Tokyo Station as their backdrop.

4. Shin-Marunouchi Building 7F House Open Terrace
This is the House Open Terrace where you can eat while watching the Tokyo Station night view. It's the best photo spot for capturing Tokyo Station at night.

5. Marunouchi Naka-dori (North)
Marunouchi Naka-dori stays relatively quiet even on weekends, which makes it a great photo spot for illumination shots.

Dog models are also being photographed here.

6. Wadakura Fountain Starbucks
The Wadakura fountain and the Starbucks night view are both beautiful. You can sip a Christmas-season drink at Starbucks and just gaze at the water.

The night view of Wadakura moat bridge reflected in the water is beautiful.

7. Marunouchi Naka-dori (South)
From the Christmas illumination to the markets, this is a street brimming with Christmas atmosphere.

Christmas markets are also held by the surrounding shops and hotels.

There's also illumination in the inner courtyard of Marunouchi Brick Square.

Marunouchi is running a Super Mario collaboration with photo zones, a stamp tour, and a Party Jamboree event. You'll often see kids excited to be holding stamp boards.

8. Tokyo Midtown Hibiya
At the end of Marunouchi Naka-dori is Tokyo Midtown Hibiya. The illumination at Midtown Hibiya is also very beautiful. It's a good idea to plan Marunouchi and Hibiya together as one itinerary.
