Reservations & Waiting
Meat Yazawa Gotanda main branch is currently pausing reservations. They plan to announce it on the official website and SNS when reservations resume; for now, you wait on-site.

In front of the restaurant there’s a waiting bench with seat numbers. You sit and wait in arrival order, starting from the right side of the bench, and if the bench is full you line up on the Meguro River sidewalk across the way. Staff check the number of people in order, and teams whose whole party has arrived are shown in first.

When I visited at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, 2026, there were 4 people waiting ahead of me, and I was seated after about 10 minutes. The waiting bench is in the shade and has a fan set up, so waiting wasn’t especially hard. There was also a heater for the winter months. With 52 seats inside, the turnover felt fast too.
Hamburg Steak: Lunch vs. Dinner
At Meat Yazawa, lunch comes with rice, a mini salad, and miso soup by default. At dinner the same hamburg is a little more expensive, and a meal set is an extra 800 yen.
A single demiglace cheese hamburg is ¥2,300 at lunch, including rice, mini salad, and miso soup. At dinner it’s ¥2,420, and adding the ¥800 meal set brings it to ¥3,220, so for the same combination lunch is ¥920 cheaper.
| Single hamburg steak (185g) | Lunch price | Dinner price |
|---|---|---|
| Demiglace cheese hamburg 〈No.1〉 | ¥2,300 | ¥2,420 |
| Fried egg hamburg (Yazawa original sauce) | ¥2,300 | ¥2,420 |
| Mozzarella tomato hamburg | ¥2,300 | ¥2,420 |
| Japanese-style oroshi hamburg | ¥2,100 | ¥2,220 |

For a double, the lunch-dinner price difference is 230 yen. A double demiglace cheese hamburg is ¥3,970 at lunch with the meal included, while at dinner it’s ¥4,200 plus the ¥800 meal set for a total of ¥5,000, so for the same combination lunch is ¥1,030 cheaper.
When you order a double hamburg, you can pick one extra sauce from demiglace, Yazawa original, or grated-radish ponzu.
| Double hamburg steak (185g x2) | Lunch price | Dinner price |
|---|---|---|
| Demiglace cheese hamburg 〈No.1〉 | ¥3,970 | ¥4,200 |
| Fried egg hamburg (Yazawa original sauce) | ¥3,970 | ¥4,200 |
| Mozzarella tomato hamburg | ¥3,970 | ¥4,200 |
| Japanese-style oroshi hamburg | ¥3,770 | ¥4,000 |

Hamburg Steak Combos
There are also combos that add steak to a hamburg (sirloin, fillet, chateaubriand, and so on) and steak à la carte. Steak comes medium-rare by default, and you can adjust the doneness.
| Hamburg steak combo | Steak S (100g) | Steak R (150g) |
|---|---|---|
| Sirloin combo | ¥6,600 | ¥8,400 |
| Fillet combo | ¥7,700 | ¥10,000 |
| Chateaubriand combo (rare fillet cut) | ¥8,500 | ¥11,000 |
📌 The dinner menu has a kids’ hamburg set for ¥1,900 and a kids’ steak set for ¥2,400.

Featured on TV & YouTube
In episode 6 of the ENA variety show “Tzuyang’s Meals,” which aired in July 2026, it appeared as the “No.1 Tokyo food-budget hamburg steak” spot visited by Tzuyang, Choo Sung-hoon, and Kim Jae-joong, and it made a big splash. With the endless relay of extra orders, the official clip’s title even used the phrase “production crew on the verge of bankruptcy.”

Choo Sung-hoon, well known as a food lover, also introduced it on his personal YouTube channel as his “true regular spot” that he’s been visiting for over 17 years. Living up to the label “juice-bursting Tokyo rare hamburg steak,” it has long been loved by locals and has also become a reason for travelers looking for a good Tokyo hamburg steak to take another look.

Signature Menus
Demiglace Cheese Hamburg | Official No.1
This is the signature menu where you get the rich juices of black wagyu bursting out the moment you set your knife to it. The deep, full-flavored demiglace sauce and the cheese melting softly on top strike a wonderful balance.
It’s a classic “flavor you already know” that anyone can picture, but the depth of the umami on your tongue is on another level. The sauce reduced on the hot iron plate, the meat’s own aroma, and the sticky richness of the cheese come together for a hearty, full-mouth satisfaction.

Fried Egg Hamburg | Yazawa Original Sauce
This one tops the Yazawa original sauce with a fried egg made from carefully selected eggs (こだわり卵). Where the demiglace cheese hamburg is rich and heavy, the Yazawa original sauce has a sweet-savory style with hints of garlic and onion, a clearly different appeal.
Pop the runny yolk and coat it generously over the juice-filled patty, and the savoriness and tenderness double up. I recommend ordering it alongside the demiglace hamburg to compare the two clearly different sauces.

🥩 Meat Yazawa’s Kick | The Sizzling Iron Plate and the “Rare” Center
The real charm of the hamburg steak here is in the “art of doneness.” As it was introduced on Choo Sung-hoon’s YouTube as a “rare hamburg steak,” the outside is browned firm and springy on the hot iron plate, but when you cut into it, the tender center reveals the reddish tint characteristic of black wagyu.
Using the heat of the sizzling iron plate to cook the cut surface to your liking as you eat, you take in the soft texture melting on your tongue and the savory feast of juices that stay warm right down to the last bite.

A meal well worth the trip out to Gotanda. The taste of a juice-filled hamburg steak on the hot iron plate is one that’s likely to stay with me for a long time.
If you want to experience the overwhelming rush of juices filling your mouth, be sure to add this to your trip itinerary.
