New Chitose Airport Limousine Bus: Stops, Timetable & Fares
Tokyo Mate
The New Chitose Airport limousine bus stops at the domestic terminal's ANA side and JAL side before it reaches the international terminal. The international terminal is the third boarding point. If the bus fills up at the earlier stops, you may have to wait for the next one. This covers where to board, the timetable, the fares, and how to buy tickets and pay by card when heading from New Chitose Airport to Sapporo Station, Odori and Susukino.

Where to board the limousine bus
You can catch the limousine bus to central Sapporo from both the domestic and international terminals. Buses bound for central Sapporo, including the central Sapporo express, leave from stops 14 and 22 at the domestic terminal and stop 84 at the international terminal.
| Terminal | Stop |
|---|---|
| ① Domestic, ANA side | Stop 22 |
| ② Domestic, JAL side | Stop 14 |
| ③ International terminal | Stop 84 |
The bus normally leaves the airport in this order: domestic ANA side stop 22, then JAL side stop 14, then international stop 84. For international passengers the thing to know is that the limousine bus takes no reservations; people board in the order they queue at the stop, and if the bus is full you take the next one. It runs on the expressway. Standing is not allowed either: every passenger has to have a seat and wear a seatbelt. So to secure a seat and avoid waiting at the international terminal for the next bus when one fills up, you can move to the domestic terminal and board there. You do not have to go to the domestic terminal after landing internationally, though. If there are not many people, or a bus is about to leave, boarding at international stop 84 is the simplest option.

On the other hand, if you plan to eat or shop at the airport and have time, moving to the domestic side is another option. The Hokkaido Ramen Dojo on the domestic terminal's 3rd floor has ramen shops including Ebisoba Ichigen, Ajisai and Teshikaga Ramen, along with Soup Curry GARAKU and Matsuo Jingisukan. The 2nd floor has dessert shops such as Kinotoya, LeTAO, Snow Cheese and Yotsuba White Cosy, plus the Pokemon Store. You can catch the limousine bus from stop 22 on the ANA side or stop 14 on the JAL side, on the 1st floor of the domestic terminal.

Getting from the international terminal to the domestic terminal
The international and domestic terminals at New Chitose Airport are joined by a connecting passage. When I walked it myself in August 2026 it took about 10 minutes.
- The passage on the 2nd floor, the arrivals level, has moving walkways.
- The passage on the 3rd floor, the departures level, is the Smile Road (スマイル・ロード), home to ROYCE' Chocolate World, a Starbucks and more. ROYCE' Chocolate World is a facility where you can see a chocolate factory, a museum and a shop together.
Shop and museum 8:00-19:00
Bakery sales from 9:00
The factory closes on irregular days

Routes, timetable and fares
The airport bus to central Sapporo is run jointly by Hokuto Kotsu and Hokkaido Chuo Bus. On the timetable, H = Hokuto Kotsu and C = Hokkaido Chuo Bus. The two companies' buses are different colours, but either one serves the same central Sapporo route. The fare depends on which stop you get off at.
① Regular service
After leaving the airport, the regular service passes through Minami-Chitose, Eniwa, Wattsu and other stops, then runs through central Sapporo and past major hotels. The fare for the central Sapporo section is 1,500 yen for adults and 750 yen for children. The same fare applies at the main central stops, including Susukino, Odori Park and Sapporo Station.
The official estimated journey times to the main stops, departing from the domestic ANA side, are as follows.
➡️ Map of limousine bus stop locations
| Main stop | Time | Fare |
|---|---|---|
| Mitsui Outlet Park entrance | 32 min | 1,400 yen |
| Sapporo Dome | 44 min | 1,500 yen |
| Minami 3-jo Susukino | 68 min | 1,500 yen |
| Odori Park | 72 min | 1,500 yen |
| Sapporo Station | 77 min | 1,500 yen |
| Hokkaido Government Office main gate | 79 min | 1,500 yen |
※ Journey times can vary with traffic.
✅ First and last buses
Based on the timetable revised on April 1, 2026.
➡️ 2026 New Chitose Airport to Sapporo limousine bus timetable
| Stop | First bus | Last bus |
|---|---|---|
| ① Domestic, ANA side | 08:40 | 22:55 |
| ② Domestic, JAL side | 08:42 | 22:37 |
| ③ International terminal | 08:46 | 22:59 |
② Express service
Besides the regular service, there is also a central Sapporo express with fewer stops. On the summer 2026 timetable, two express buses leave from the airport.
| Stop | Bus 1 | Bus 2 |
|---|---|---|
| ① Domestic, ANA side | 14:10 | 16:10 |
| ② Domestic, JAL side | 14:12 | 16:12 |
| ③ International terminal | 14:16 | 16:16 |
| Sapporo Station | 15:15 | 17:15 |
| Odori Park | 15:23 | 17:23 |
| Susukino (Minami 4 Nishi 1) | 15:27 | 17:27 |
| Nakajima Park | 15:30 | 17:30 |
The express stops at Sapporo Station, then Odori Park, Susukino and Nakajima Park, in that order. Being an express does not mean it is faster than the regular service to every destination. It is worth checking both the stop closest to where you are staying and the departure time.

✅ The fare is 1,500 yen
For the central Sapporo section, including Sapporo Station, Odori and Susukino, the fare is 1,500 yen for adults and 750 yen for children. Fares went up on April 1, 2026. The 1,300 yen you may see in older posts is no longer the current fare. At both Hokuto Kotsu and Hokkaido Chuo Bus, the adult fare for the central Sapporo section rose by 200 yen, from 1,300 yen to 1,500 yen. Anything that quotes 1,300 yen predates the fare revision.
Buying tickets and paying by card
For a one-way trip on the New Chitose Airport limousine bus, you do not need to buy a ticket in advance, and the bus takes no reservations. You can pay on the bus with cash or a supported payment method. Holding a ticket in advance does not get you on first, either; people board in the order they queue at the stop.
This is the part that confuses people most when they search for limousine bus tickets. There are ticket machines at the airport, so it can look as though you have to buy a ticket first, but advance tickets are not required for a regular one-way ride.
✅ Payment methods by bus company
| Payment method | Hokuto Kotsu | Hokkaido Chuo Bus |
|---|---|---|
| Cash | ⭕️ Yes | ⭕️ Yes |
| Credit/debit card touch payment | ⭕️ Yes | ⭕️ Yes |
| IC transit cards such as Suica and ICOCA | ❌ No | ⭕️ Yes |
| Round-trip tickets and coupon tickets | ⭕️ Yes | ⭕️ Yes |
| PayPay | ⭕️ Yes | ❌ No |
Hokuto Kotsu accepts cash, credit card touch payment and PayPay, but not IC transit cards such as Suica or ICOCA.

Hokkaido Chuo Bus takes IC transit cards including SAPICA, as well as credit card touch payment. So rather than bringing only Suica or ICOCA, it is easier to have a card that supports touch payment, or some cash, ready as well.

✅ Credit and debit card touch payment
A card can be used if it meets the contactless payment conditions of a supported brand such as Visa or Mastercard. Depending on how the card was issued or how it is set up, though, the payment may not go through. Have another way to pay ready too.

✅ IC transit cards such as Suica and ICOCA
IC transit cards such as Suica and ICOCA can only be used on Hokkaido Chuo Bus. On Hokkaido Chuo Bus you can also top up your card with a 1,000 yen note, 1,000 yen at a time, while the bus is stopped.

✅ Round-trip tickets and coupon tickets
A coupon ticket is not a "round-trip only ticket". It is a bundle of tickets you can use several times within the same fare section. The discounted tickets for the 1,500 yen central Sapporo section are as follows.
| Ticket | Adult price | Per ride |
|---|---|---|
| One-way ticket | 1,500 yen | 1,500 yen |
| Round-trip ticket | 2,900 yen | 1,450 yen |
| Paper coupon tickets (4 rides) | 5,600 yen | 1,400 yen |
| Smartphone coupon tickets (4 rides) | 5,100 yen | 1,275 yen |
Round-trip and coupon tickets can be used on either Hokuto Kotsu or Hokkaido Chuo Bus services. If two adults are making a round trip together, the 4-ride smartphone coupon tickets are the cheapest. Paying for four one-way rides separately comes to 6,000 yen and two round-trip tickets to 5,800 yen, while the smartphone coupon tickets are 5,100 yen. That is 900 yen cheaper than four one-way rides and 700 yen cheaper than two round-trip tickets.
Smartphone coupon tickets can be bought on busmo.
➡️ Buy smartphone coupon tickets on busmo
To use one, select the ticket on the ticket screen, tap the button to activate it, and show the driver the activated screen that appears. It may be hard to cancel after activating. Do not tap it early; check the usage notes on screen and when you are meant to show it before you use it.
✅ The ticket machine is cash only
The ticket machine I checked at New Chitose Airport in August 2026 was marked "Cash Only". That does not mean the limousine bus itself only takes cash, though. At the bus counter at New Chitose Airport you can buy round-trip and coupon tickets by credit card, and you can also buy round-trip and coupon tickets on board the bus.

JR or the limousine bus
Choosing is not hard if you go by where you are staying and how long the trip takes.
✅ When the limousine bus is easier
- You are staying near Susukino, Odori or Nakajima Park
- You have a large suitcase or are in a big group
- You want to get to the stop near your accommodation without changing
✅ When JR is easier
- You are staying near Sapporo Station
- You want to get to Sapporo Station quickly
- You are using the Hokkaido Rail Pass
The JR Rapid Airport train takes as little as 33 minutes from New Chitose Airport to Sapporo. Between 9:00 and 16:00 there are six trains an hour, and you can ride in the non-reserved seats straight away with an IC transit card such as Suica, ICOCA or PASMO. The airport limousine bus, on the other hand, can take around 70-90 minutes to Sapporo, but it has the advantage that you can put your suitcase in the luggage hold and ride without changing to a stop close to your accommodation, such as Susukino, Odori or Nakajima Park. With JR, you have to get to New Chitose Airport Station and then keep an eye on your own luggage on the train. In winter or on heavy snow days in particular, the limousine bus can be delayed by road conditions, so if travel time is your priority it is worth checking JR's service status and comparing.
FAQ
Q. Do I need to buy a limousine bus ticket in advance?
A. No. An advance ticket is not required for a one-way ride. The bus takes no reservations, and people board in the order they queue at the stop.
Q. Can I board straight from international stop 84?
A. Yes. But the international terminal is the third stop, after domestic stops 22 and 14. If the bus fills up at the earlier stops, you may have to wait for the next one.
Q. Can I get off at Odori Park?
A. Both the regular central Sapporo service and the central Sapporo express have an Odori Park stop. Not every bus leaving New Chitose Airport runs the same route, though, so check that it is bound for central Sapporo before you board.
Q. Can I ride with Suica or ICOCA?
A. On Hokkaido Chuo Bus, yes, but not on Hokuto Kotsu. Both companies take credit card touch payment.
Q. Can I get a refund on a round-trip ticket I bought?
A. Hokuto Kotsu states a refund fee of 100 yen per ticket for tickets and round-trip tickets, and 200 yen for coupon tickets. Whether a refund is actually possible can depend on how the ticket has been used and which ticket you bought, so check with where you bought it.
When travelling from New Chitose Airport to Sapporo, the limousine bus is often the easier choice if you are staying around Susukino or Odori. If you are flying international you can board straight from stop 84, but if you plan to eat or shop at the airport, it is also worth knowing that you can move to the domestic side, spend some time there, and board at stop 22 or 14. Timetables and fares can change, so check the latest service information once more before you travel.
