The morning menu is orderable from 8:30 to 11:00, and every set comes with a drink.
You cannot book for the morning slot; reservations are lunchtime only.

🥨 The two shokupan in the select toast set
With the select toast set you pick one of two shokupan.
- Gokunama "Hokkaido milk butter" shokupan (極生"北海道ミルクバター"食パン) is made with Hokkaido milk and fresh cream, domestic butter and honey, giving a soft loaf with a deep flavour. It is fluffy right to the crust, and toasting brings out more chew and sweetness.
- Gokubi "natural" shokupan (極美"ナチュラル"食パン) is the plain type, made without egg or dairy. The quiet wheat flavour and sweetness are its character, and toasted it turns crisp and nutty outside, which works with the jams.
🍭 The five jams to choose from
Sakimoto Bakery's jams are strawberry, blueberry, milk butter, pistachio and Earl Grey. The gokubi toast special set comes with one, the select toast set with three, to eat alongside the bread.
- Strawberry: strawberries simmered with sugar, balanced between sweet and tart with a clean finish.
- Blueberry: keeps the fruit's sweetness and acidity, finished with lemon. The fruit stays whole in it.
- Milk butter: a deep milk and butter flavour with a soft, smooth texture.
- Pistachio: made rich with Sicilian pistachios, sweet and nutty.
- Earl Grey: Earl Grey milk tea reduced slowly into a dense, fragrant milk jam.

You choose from Sakimoto blend coffee, cafe latte, caramel latte, black tea, milk, orange juice, apple juice, ginger ale, oolong tea, lemon squash and peach squash.
What I ordered
I skipped the hotel breakfast plan because I wanted to try more places around Osaka.
I headed to Sakimoto Bakery Cafe in Namba for the 8:30 opening. What I ordered that day was the soft-boiled egg gokubi sandwich and the French toast.

🥚 Soft-boiled egg gokubi sandwich
Plenty of soft-boiled egg between soft slices of shokupan, filling enough to count as a meal on its own.
The egg is nutty and mild, and the lemon jam adds a bright hit of acidity on top of it. An egg sandwich can sit heavy, and that tartness kept it easy to finish.
🍞 French toast
Thick-cut shokupan, browned outside and moist inside. The first bite gives you the soft texture of the bread and a quiet sweetness, which made it easy to eat in the morning.
If you want to start a morning in Osaka a little differently, I would recommend Sakimoto Bakery Cafe.
