Pain Maison Ginza: 120 Yen Salt Bread, Menu & Booking
Tokyo Mate
Pain Maison Ginza is known as the original salt bread in Tokyo, and between the 120 yen salt bread and the online waiting list it stays busy. Menu prices, how to book with AirWAIT, queueing tips and the Asakusa and Shinjuku branches, all in one place.

"I wanted to make bread anyone could enjoy, even in the height of summer." Pain Maison (パン・メゾン), known as the original Japanese salt bread, started from that thought. Pain is French for bread and maison means house. Shiopan (塩パン) is Japanese for salt bread.

2. Tap the waiting list button (順番待ち受付をする) and register your place in line.
3. Register an email address or LINE account so you can be notified when you're called.
4. When the call comes, head to the shop and go in.
⛔ Waiting around the shop is not allowed, so once you've booked, walk around Ginza and come back when the notification arrives.

Pain Maison Menu: Five Salt Breads and Prices
Pain Maison's signature is the original salt bread. Crisp outside, chewy inside, with a crunchy base that still carries the smell of butter. Coarse rock salt on top makes it simple but not something you tire of.

1. Salt bread (塩パン) 120 yen
Butter worked generously into a special soft French dough, coarse rock salt sprinkled on top and baked. Simple, and the one you keep coming back to.
2. Salt melon bread (塩メロンパン) 190 yen
Salt bread baked with a crisp melon bread crust on top. The sweet and salty combination is addictive.
3. Salt bread sandwich, ham and egg (塩パンサンド ハムたまご) 190 yen
Ham and egg salad in the salt bread, good as a light meal.
4. Premium an-butter (塩パンサンドプレミアム あんバター) 240 yen

5. Mini shokupan (ミニ食パン) 220 yen
A mini-size plain loaf made from the salt bread dough, soft and chewy.

Picking up salt bread straight out of the oven is a good way to start a day in Ginza, and the AirWAIT online waiting list takes some of the sting out of the queue. Start your Ginza walk with a bite of warm salt bread. There's plenty else worth a stop in Ginza too.
