Sapporo The Bar Ginza: Perfect Draft Beer, Hours & Menu
Tokyo Mate
Sapporo The Bar in Ginza works from a single concept: the best beer of the day is the first glass. Everyone who comes in gets that perfect glass of draft. I'd recommend it to anyone who loves beer.

📍 Sapporo Draft Beer Black Label THE BAR
〒104-0061 Tokyo, Chuo City, Ginza, 5 Chome-8-1 GINZA PLACE B1F
Sapporo The Bar Ginza: Getting There
Sapporo The Bar connects underground to exit A4 of Ginza Station.
It's on basement floor 1 of the Ginza Place building.

The entrance is shared with Chun Shui Tang, which can be confusing. The queue on the left is the one for The Bar.
Weekdays start at 2pm, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays at 11:30.

Coming from street level, take the elevator inside Ginza Place, the building with the Nissan showroom on the ground floor.

Sapporo The Bar Ginza: The Menu
The menu is written in English and Japanese. There are three kinds of beer.
| Beer | What it is |
|---|---|
| Perfect Black Label | Smoother and fresher than ordinary draft. It goes after perfection through the right temperature (Cold), clarity (Clear) and a creamy head (Creamy). |
| First | Poured in one go with the swing method, so you get the fresh taste of beer running cool down the throat. |
| Hybrid | Perfect Black Label combined with the swing pour: a soft finish with a thick head. |

Black Label The Bar serves a premium food menu that goes with the beer. The sandwich in particular is supervised each month by a well-known Ginza restaurant, changes flavor with the season, and pairs perfectly with the beer. December's is a Matsusaka beef silk toro flake tartare, supervised by Ginza Yoshizawa, a wagyu butcher and sukiyaki kaiseki restaurant founded in 1924.

Sapporo The Bar Ginza: Beer and Sandwich
I arrived around 5pm on a Sunday and waited 30 minutes. It's all standing, and orders are capped at two glasses per person, so the turnover is quicker than you'd expect. Still, the place is small for how popular it is, so plan on queueing.

I ordered one Perfect and one First.

The head on the Perfect, on the left, is much finer and creamier. I'd take it over the First.

To eat, the Ginza Sandwich. It's the Matsusaka beef silk toro flake tartare supervised by Ginza Yoshizawa, and it pairs well with the beer.

Epilogue
If you're planning a trip to Ginza, save Sapporo The Bar to your bucket list. You'll get a perfect glass of draft beer.
