Steakland Kobe: Kobe Beef Lunch Menu, Prices & Wait

Steakland Kobe is a teppan steak restaurant right by Sannomiya Station where you can have a 150g Kobe beef steak lunch for 3,500 yen. The Kobe beef steak dinner is 180g for 7,480 yen (tax included). I went on a weekday right at lunch opening and walked straight in with no wait.

Steakland Kobe: basic info

Steakland Kobe is on the first and second floors of the Miyasako Building near Sannomiya Station. It's open from 11:00 to 21:30 with no afternoon break, and the lunch menu can be ordered from 11:00 to 14:00.

It's a designated Kobe Beef restaurant registered with the Kobe Meat Distribution Promotion Council, registration No. 438.

✅ Getting to Steakland Kobe

Steakland Kobe is about a 1-minute walk from the West Exit of Hankyu Kobe-Sannomiya Station and about 3 minutes from the JR Sannomiya West Exit. It's also about 5 minutes from Hanshin Kobe-Sannomiya Station.

Steakland Kobe-kan is about a 2-minute walk from the Kobe branch. The two have the same menu, but different hours and size.

Steakland Kobe: reservations and waiting

Steakland Kobe doesn't take reservations.

When there's a wait, take a ticket from the machine in front of the restaurant and wait your turn. The QR code on the ticket shows the current queue.

I went on a weekday at 11am opening and got in straight away. At weekends and busy times the wait can get long, so try to arrive at opening if you can.

Steakland Kobe lunch menu and prices

Steakland Kobe and Kobe-kan use the same menu. There are seven lunches, from 1,380 yen to 6,880 yen.

Lunch came with salad, grilled vegetables, rice, miso soup and tsukemono pickles, and for a drink you could choose coffee or orange juice.

✅ Steakland Kobe dinner menu and prices

The Kobe beef steak courses are put together differently at lunch and dinner, so you can't simply compare the prices.

Dinner has more steak than lunch and includes hors d'oeuvres, a special soup, seafood, salad and grilled vegetables, bread or rice, and dessert and coffee.

📌 To keep the cost down, go for lunch between 11:00 and 14:00.

Steakland’s teppan counter: Kobe beef lunch review

I was shown to a seat on the second floor of the Kobe branch. Famous paintings hang on the walls, which gives it a classic feel. My teppan had about 12 people seated around it, and I could watch the chef cooking the meat right in front of me.

The teppan was kept neat and clean. That day I ordered the Kobe beef steak lunch, 150g for 3,500 yen.

First came the salad, the sauce and tsukemono. Before cooking, they asked how I wanted the meat done, and I ordered medium.

The chef started by frying thinly sliced garlic in oil until golden to bring out the aroma.

When the meat went onto the garlic-scented teppan, it sizzled and the smell of grilled beef spread out. Several orders are cooked on the same teppan, but each order's meat is cooked separately. Even sitting right in front of it, the smoke and smell weren't too much.

The meat is cooked to how you asked, then cut into bite-size pieces.

Once the meat was off, bean sprouts and vegetables were stir-fried on the same teppan.

The finished Kobe beef, garlic chips and grilled vegetables are shared out onto each person's plate.

The Kobe beef had a rich, savoury flavour from the first bite, and cooked medium it was tender to chew. Moved straight from the teppan to the plate and eaten hot, the grilled aroma came through clearly. The sweetish sauce went well with the savoury meat, and the crunchy garlic chips added a change in taste and texture.

Lunch comes with rice, miso soup, salad, tsukemono and grilled vegetables. With 150g of Kobe beef plus rice, soup and sides, it was plenty filling for lunch.

After the meal you can choose coffee or orange juice.

Watching it cooked in front of you and eating it right away is the fun of teppan steak.

A. Yes. You can order from the lunch menu from 11:00 to 14:00 at weekends and on holidays too. The lunch menu isn't served from 1 to 3 January, though.
